Q: What do users need to access Looking Local? A: To enable two-way communication, a phone line or broadband connection between the TV receiving equipment is typically required. This connectivity is standard for Satellite (Sky) and Virgin Media (formerly NTL / Telewest) subscribers. There are a number of Freeview boxes that have a broadband connection now available including BT Vision and Netgem iPlayer 6640 boxes. A number of further models are set for launch in the coming months. Q: How can I view the TV and mobile service? A: You can view the service via a set top box, select the link for the pathway routes http://www.digitv.gov.uk/wiki/x/3AE If you do not have a set top box you can view the service via a PC: www.digitv.gov.uk/site/demo/live.html You can also see the mobile service by sending your postcode via text to 07786 203957 Q: How do I arrange a presentation by DigiTV A: Please complete the following email form and one of the DigiTV team will contact you directly to answer any question and arrange a date to present to your team. Click here for the email form. Q: I don't have cable coverage in my area, do I pay the same costs? A: No - If you don't have any cable coverage in your area then the annual cost is reduced. Please click here for more details on costs. Q: I use a service supplier that you don't work with, can I get them involved? A: Yes - we are happy to talk to other service suppliers about creating plugins for DigiTV. If they wish to create a plugin we will assist them in doing so. Q: We are a regional group and would like to create a presence on Looking Local as one site. Is this possible? A: We do have regional groups on the service. There are various way to create a regional service, link between services and show a united face. Q: Can you provide statistical information for sites on the Looking Local service? A: Yes - all live sites can view information by Week, Screens hits, Sessions, hits per plugin, total site hits. Click here for more information on our statistics. Q: I have found my councils site although we are not signed with DigiTV. Why is it there? A: To give the user a positive experience on Looking Local, DigiTV provides 'One Pager' sites. These sites contain contact information for the council and a selection of our 'plugins'.
